Hi, I'm Dario, the creator of 404 Love Found. I built this project to turn those page-missing moments into a chance to meet adoptable pets. Instead of a dead end, visitors see local animals who need a home.

How It Works

When a page isn't found, 404 Love Found shows a short list of adoptable pets near the visitor and a simple way back to where they came from. It's lightweight and privacy-respecting by design. If you own a website and want to know how to implement it on your properties, visit the developer docs.

The Story

This project grew from the idea that every little opportunity can make a difference. After adopting Sammie, the goal became helping other animals find the same joy and security in a loving home.

I spent more than ten years at Google working in digital advertising. I realized that millions of missing-page visits happen every day, and I wondered: if only a few of those visits lead to an adoption, wouldn't that be wonderful?

Can a brief detour toward adoptable pets increase awareness and adoptions? That's the question this site explores.
